More than 200 kg of cocaine seized in coffee bags at the port of

Two people were arrested on the evening of Sunday January 12, 2025at the port of (Seine-Maritime).

According to a source close to the case, these were discovered inside a container, where the 218 kg of cocaine hidden in coffee bags, thus confirming information from BFMTV.

The two individuals were taken into police custody for importation and trafficking of drugs. The Specialized Inter-Regional Jurisdiction of (Jirs) took up the case around midday, this Monday, January 13.

Illicit merchandise hidden in coffee bags

After the exploitation of information, the container was voluntarily removed from the terminal at the request of the branch of the Anti-Narcotics Office (Ofast) in Le Havrecontinues this same source. Following a first physical search of the container on Friday, the load was to be the subject of a more in-depth search by scanner during the day on Monday.

While awaiting these more in-depth operations, the container had been placed in a secure area, where two individuals were spotted around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Two individuals arrested

The BAC was the first to go to the scene and arrested the two individuals found near the freight bags.

In their possession, all the equipment necessary to recover hidden drugs.

Ofast, which quickly joined the BAC on site, was interested in the contents of the load. These investigations led to the discovery of the illicit merchandise.

This new seizure comes two weeks after the discovery of more than two tons of cocaine in the port of Le Havre, and while Bruno Retailleau is traveling this Monday to the port of Le Havre to discuss the subject of the fight against drug trafficking.
