In an interview with “Rothen s'igne”, on RMC Sport, John Textor returned to the state of his relationship with his PSG counterpart Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and its consequences on the transfer window. All with a certain awkwardness.
John Textor began his mandate at the head of OL by selling Bradley Barcola to PSG for 50 million euros including bonus and had said yes to the Parisians' offer of 15 million euros for Rayan Cherki last summer before the about-face of the player. But today, the American president of Olympique Lyonnais assures that he no longer wants to sell players to the Parisian club.
The reason? The state of his relationship with Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, at its lowest point since the TV Rights episode. On December 15, on the sidelines of PSG/OL, John Textor publicly mocked his Parisian counterpart by sharing on social networks an extract from a private conversation with the Parisian president, who told him that he would never win nothing in football. It was all accompanied by a photo of Textor lifting the Copa Libertadores with Botafogo.
Textor no longer wants to sell players to PSG for the moment
This Monday, RMC Sport broadcast an extract from his interview with John Textor with Jérôme Rothen and the former French international asked the Lyon manager if he was ready to sell Rayan Cherki or Malick Fofana to PSG in the event of a good offer. Response from the American: ” Today ? No, that won't happen. I don't want to sell a player of this quality to Nasser until we shake hands, share a beer and decide together to help the French championship.”awkwardly blurted out the Lyon president, probably forgetting that Al-Khelaïfi did not drink beer because of his religion.
-“It’s obvious, my relationship with Nasser is no longer what it was, but men remain men, we can move past that. But for now, no, I won't sell anyone to him.”added John Textor, who is not likely to sell anyone to PSG in view of this new release. Interested last summer, PSG does not intend to return to the charge for Rayan Cherki this winter, believing that the train had passed for him after his refusal last summer.
