“Their fight after the accident”

Men and women who decided to fight for others. Watch Wednesday January 15 at 10:45 p.m. on France 2 and on france.TV.
Their lives were turned upside down after an accident and forever transformed their destiny. To project oneself again, the fight was a driving force, a horizon. Martin
In 2017, at age 25, Martin became quadriplegic after a diving accident. Today an influencer and followed by tens of thousands of subscribers, he uses his audience to talk about disability and promote accessibility for people with reduced mobility.
“The most difficult thing: you may have the whole Earth with you, at the end of the day you are alone facing yourself! This is both my greatest weakness and my greatest strength. »
“In the visibility that was allocated to me, I immediately felt a feeling of responsibility because the cause of disability is not necessarily well known. »
Sandrine
Sandrine decided to donate the organs of her son Logan, 8 years old, who died after a serious domestic accident. With her association, she supports other bereaved parents and campaigns to raise awareness about organ donation.
“At first, I said to myself “it’s not possible!” ”, and then after thinking about it, I said to myself that it went exactly with Logan’s temperament and his personality, and I said: “Take what you want…””
“I never thought I would be able to overcome such a terrible tragedy… I learned what resilience was: I am a survivor. »
Mathias
Having become quadriplegic following a bad tackle in rugby, Mathias now draws attention to the risks of injury and disability in this sport.
“We are prisoners of our own bodies. My head wants to do what I did before…”
“I am not satisfied with my recovery and that is a promise that I made to myself and to my parents: as long as we are not all in well-being, I will continue to fight so that our life is best. »
“They manage to reflect themselves in me, to say to themselves “That could be me! ”… What I do is not for nothing. »
Cathy
Cathy has been campaigning with the “Justice for Road Victims” collective for the creation of a road homicide since the violent death of her son on a scooter sixteen years ago. Added to the pain is the injustice of the case being closed, when his son was hit on a motorbike by a motorist who was traveling in the opposite direction.
