Already European champion, Thibau Nys added the title of Belgian champion to his list of achievements.
Thibau Nys was crowned Belgian cyclocross champion for the first time in his career after triumphing at the end of the race in the Elite men’s race on Sunday in Heusden-Zolder. In Limburg, the reigning European champion of the discipline won alone while Laurens Sweeck and Toon Aerts took 2nd and 3rd places respectively in the event.
On the list of winners, Nys, who won his first Belgian champion title among the Elites, succeeds Eli Iserbyt. The native of Bonheiden had already been crowned among the juniors in 2020. That year, he scored a hat-trick by also winning the European and World Championships in the same category.
This season, Thibau Nys, 22, also won the Superprestige event in Overijse and the X2O Trophy round in Lokeren.
