In Valencia, the LC Brühl athlete broke the Swiss 10 km record. He was credited with a time of 26’54” to lower by 19” the record he held jointly with Julien Wanders.

Dominic Lobalu took second place in the Valencian event, beaten to the wire by Andreas Almgren. With his time of 26’53”, the Swede set a new European record.
