Didier Lamkel Zé’s big return to Belgium: already a notable first appearance – All football

Sint-Truiden found a smile again in Westerlo (1-2). An almost perfect evening for Felice Mazzu.

“Westerlo deserved better in this match”: Happy Mazzu began his post-match interview by acknowledging that the Campinois had caused problems for his team. But after several matches where the tide was turning against his troops, he is not being choosy.

“We executed our tactical plan well. After more than two months without a victory in the league, it feels good. We knew that Westerlo liked to operate on the counterattack. We wanted to prevent them from doing that by playing in a low block ourselves. I’m satisfied because this time we did the job to the end,” he rejoices, in comments relayed by Het Nieuwsblad.

A weight attack to seek support

Mazzu was also delighted with the first minutes of Didier Lamkel Zé. The relationship already seems to be in good shape between these two: the former enfant terrible of Antwerp was hugged by his coach when he had not yet entered the game.

The Cameroonian brought calm to his entry onto the pitch: “He’s a nice guy. Who fits immediately into the group. Today everyone saw that he had certain qualities. Okay, physically , it’s not one hundred percent, but we’re working on it. It’s clear that it’s a very interesting profile for us.”

Adriano Bertaccini joined his coach: “With him, we have someone who can keep the ball and delay in front”. Silent today, the Trudonnaire striker was just as enthusiastic aboutAndreas Ferrariwho lobbed Koen Van Langendonck from midfield after five minutes: “It’s a world-class goal. It’s not normal. When the ball flew, I knew straight away that it was was going to go into the net.”
