The weekend will end in apotheosis, this Sunday in Pontchâteau (Loire-Atlantique), with the Elite women’s and then men’s races of the French Cyclo-cross Championships. In the cold, but a priori under a winter sun, the runners should be warmed by the warm local atmosphere.
The Coët-Roz circuit, a benchmark for cyclo-cross in France, is hosting the French Championships for the seventh time since the creation of the event at the start of the 20th century.
Among the men, the favorite is Clément Venturini, winner of the event six times in his career and double reigning French champion. But brothers Joshua and Lucas Dubau also have a card to play. The first city won the Elite race in 2022 and finished second last year.
As for the women’s race, Hélène Clauzel, double title holder, will seek to retain her crown this Sunday.
The Elite races of the French Cyclo-cross Championships will take place this Sunday in Pontchâteau. The women will start at 2:30 p.m. and the men at 3:20 p.m. Both races will be broadcast on Eurosport 1.
