During an interview with the BBC, the daughter of Dominique and Gisèle Pelicot, Caroline Darian, spoke about the conviction of her father who received 20 years of criminal imprisonment.
The life of the daughter of Gisèle and Dominique Pélicot was turned upside down with the start of the historic Mazan trial. Her mother was drugged by her father and raped and handed over to strangers. In an interview given to the BBCCaroline Darian returned to the Mazan rape case.
In an extract from the interview, which will be broadcast this Monday, January 13 at 8 p.m. on BBC 2, the 46-year-old woman recalls an evening in November 2020 when she received a call from her mother. The latter informs him that her father had raped her. “I remember screaming, crying, even insulting him. It was like an earthquake. A tsunami.”she confides.
“He’s a dangerous man.”
Caroline Darian reiterated her conviction that she too had been a victim of her father. Two photos of her, unconscious and in her underwear, were found on her father’s computer. “I am convinced that I was drugged to be raped (…) but I have no proof. He always denied it, but he gave different versions each time”she regrets.
The daughter of Gisèle Pélicot even addressed the future of her father, sentenced to 20 years of criminal imprisonment. “He should die in prison, he is a dangerous man. He must not be released. In any case”she said. For Caroline Darian, Dominique Pélicot is one of the “worst sexual predators of the last 20 or 30 years.”
