D. Sow, a 15-year-old shepherd, slits his friend’s throat after a small argument

The commune of Gueun Sarr, in the Louga region, is shaken by a tragic tragedy involving two teenage shepherds. D. Sow, 15, is accused of killing his classmate O. Sow by slitting his throat with a cutter during an argument. He was placed under arrest warrant in the minors’ section of the Louga Detention and Correction Center (MAC), according to L’Observateur.

The events took place in the bush, where the two young people, close according to testimonies, were watching their herds. What seemed like an ordinary discussion under a tree escalated into a violent argument. According to initial accounts, O. Sow insulted D. Sow, fueling the latter’s anger. Furious, D. Sow allegedly grabbed a cutter and dealt a fatal blow to his comrade, seriously injuring him in the carotid artery. Despite the intervention of a passerby who alerted the villagers, O. Sow succumbed to his injuries before help arrived. His body was transported to the morgue of the Amadou Sakhir Mbaye regional hospital in Louga, where an autopsy confirmed massive hemorrhage caused by a stab weapon.

D. Sow, arrested shortly after the events, initially admitted his act by expressing regret, declaring: “I did not want to kill him. » But before the judge, he changed his version, saying that the victim had injured himself by attacking him. Faced with these inconsistencies, the prosecution reclassified the charges as “murder” and “possession of a weapon without authorization”. The teenager will now have to answer to these accusations in court. The investigation continues to shed light on this tragedy which has left the community of Gueun Sarr in mourning.
