DGSN: Opening of a training school for peace guards in Marrakech

The opening of the news Marrakech school is part of the implementation of structuring projects recently announced by the DGSN as part of its annual program, relating to the rehabilitation and development of police structuresin particular the strengthening of police training infrastructures and support for regional centers of security training schools. Since 2016, the DGSN has been engaged in an ambitious project aimed at developing the police training system as a key element of a global and profound reform of the security function, through the revision of the recruitment charter and training methods, in addition to the creation of new specialized schools close geographically to the new trainees.

In accordance with this new strategic vision, the DGSN now has several safe training and training schools, including the Royal Institute of Police (IRP) of Kénitraas well as several others peacekeeper training schools in the cities of Laâyoune, Oujda, Fez, Tangier, Marrakech, Bouknadel and Fouarat in the suburbs of Kénitra, in addition to Higher police training center in Ifranewhose inauguration is planned soon, with the ambition of becoming a international and African security cooperation hub in the field of police training.

Inspection visit by the Director General of the DGSN and the DGST

The Director General of National Security (DGSN) and Territorial Surveillance (DGST) carried out an inspection visit to the headquarters of the new training school for peace guards in Marrakechbefore its official inauguration, to find out about the latest preparations and the arrangements made to welcome the first promotion of the new trainee peacekeepers.

The Director General of the DGSN visited the different installations of the new peace guard training school in Marrakech and following the explanations provided by the director of human resources on the educational training methodsTHE police training programs as well as the short, medium and long term objectives of this new structure.

During this visit, the Director General of the DGSN and the DGST insisted on the importance and necessity of developing training programs and harmonize them with the new philosophy of security actionbased on citizen service and improving security services.

He also insisted on the imperative of giving particular importance and great attention to new interns who are the police officers of tomorrow, ensuring that they consolidate their knowledge and appropriate the culture of human rights.

It is also a matter of protecting these new interns against any inappropriate or suspicious conduct, in order to enable them to optimally fulfill their noble duties in matters of preservation of securityprotection of property and the establishment of a climate favorable to the exercise of rights and freedoms, he added. During this visit, the Director General of the DGSN and the DGST was accompanied by the Inspector General, the Director of Human Resources, the Director of Public Security, the Director of the Information and Communication System, the Director of Equipment and Budget and the Prefect of Police of Marrakech, as well as as well as the director of the Royal Police Institute and the newly appointed director of the Marrakech Peacekeepers Training School.

A new police school with a capacity of 500 trainees

The news training school for peace guards in Marrakech was built on a total area of ​​7,826 m2, with a capacity to accommodate 500 trainees throughout the basic training period of peacekeepers.

This new training structure has been designed to offer all the necessary accommodation facilitiesTHE teaching rooms and of formation and the external training spacesso that trainees can follow their training in the best conditions, with a view to joining the service and recruitment centers.

In this regard, the School has a accommodation space comprising 16 units, an equipped kitchen, two separate restaurants and a set ofHealth facilitiesin addition to an educational pavilion housing a multipurpose room with a capacity of 100 people, 10 classrooms, a computer room and a room for videoconferencing.

This structure is also equipped with a clinic offering medical consultations first and second levels, an administrative space of 19 offices, a meeting room, a prayer room, a courtyard for the national flag raising ceremony, as well as multiple courtyards for the various paramilitary and sports training.

The DGSN aspires that the Marrakech Peacekeepers Training School can contribute to strengthening specialization in the field of safety trainingthe rapprochement of trainee training centers, as well as the establishment of appropriate conditions for the development of the training system for new executives who join the ranks of the National securitywith the mission of preservation of the security of the homeland and the protection of citizens and their property.
