It will represent Occitania for the Best Bakery in France: how was the Gard establishment “Au paradis des gourmands” selected?

Last July, the television cameras of the M6 ​​channel came to land in the Gard for the new season of the show The best bakery in France. Selected to participate in this adventure, the Garons establishment, Au paradis des gourmands, took up the game and threw itself body and soul into meeting the challenges.

A challenge brilliantly met

For two months, the entire Paradis des gourmands team worked on developing the recipes that would be proposed and presented for the show by Thibaut Combe and Guillaume Mahoudeau. Laurent Combe, the owner admitted then, “even if it’s Thibaut and Guillaume who are doing the competition, it’s a collective adventure. The fourteen people who work at the bakery did an exceptional job. For two months, we all worked together to prepare this” .

This Thursday, January 9, after long months of waiting, it was time to see on the screens the result of all the efforts made by the Garonne team. And the least we can say is that the bakery made the department shine, winning hands down against its competitor of the day. Corn bread, thyme and black olive pavlova, Nîmes sandwich with breaded Nîmes brandade… So many successes which, at the end of the day, allowed them to achieve an exceptional average of 9.3 out of 10.

Masa Mama, in Nîmes, stands out

And this Friday, at the end of the review of the week led by Noémie Honiat and Bruno Cormerais, star members of the jury, the Gard bakers awaited the verdict: who would be designated to represent the Occitanie region during the national final of the emission ?

Five candidates were still in the running, from Pézenas, Montpellier, Castelnau-le-Lez, Garons, but also from Nîmes thanks to the performance of the day by Clément and his team for Masa Mama (12 rue Vincent Faïta). After a period of suspense, Bruno Cormerais, best worker in France, finally acclaimed the triumph of Au paradis des gourmands. Enough, truly, to be in paradise for the Gardois!
