Be careful near watercourses. Five departments in the north-west of are still placed on orange flood alert on Saturday January 11, according to Météo-France. These are Ille-et-Vilaine, Eure, Val-d’Oise, Maine-et-Loire and Aisne. The department is no longer on orange alert. Significant floods are forecast for the Thouet downstream, the Dives, the Epte, the Seiche, the Vilaine median and the Oise upstream.

The day before, flooding had already been observed in the West. In Gisors, a Norman town of 12,000 inhabitants, the Eure firefighters announced that they had carried out 25 interventions with the overflow of the Epte. In the , in , the level of the Maine “has reached water levels causing overflows”announced the town hall in a press release.

In Ille-et-Vilaine, four people were evacuated during the day in Guipry-Messac, south of , firefighters said. Finally, in Seine-Maritime, the overflowing of the “Arques” and “la Béthune” rivers caused flooding affecting around thirty houses in Arques-la-Bataille.
