Police arrest driver with more than 6,000 bottles of strong alcohol near Briey

Driving a utility vehicle, a man was checked by PSIG gendarmes from Val-De-Briey to Landres. He returned from Luxembourg with 6,284 bottles of various strong alcohols, or 401 boxes. All for a value of 54,000 euros.

Friday January 10, 2025, a trader in the region was checked at two a.m. by PSIG gendarmes from Val-De-Briey to Landres. He returned from Luxembourg with 6,284 bottles of various strong alcohols, or 401 boxes, without any proof of purchase.

His merchandise is estimated at 54,000 euros. “He already admits three round trips from Luxembourg to (Seine-Saint-Denis) but to be only a transporter in the service of a boss”specify the gendarmes on their Facebook site.

From now on, the investigation must continue in the department of Seine-Saint-Denis. The seized goods will be sold at public auction for the benefit of the State, indicates the gendarmerie.
