The heroic gesture of a corgi

After seriously injuring her foot in a fall, a Kitchener woman was saved by her corgi.

Jess Parker was walking her dog Waldo near her home when she tripped on a muddy section of grass. His body slipped while his right leg remained in place.

I heard and felt a huge crack she remembers. I knew instantly that my leg was broken.

It was terrible. There was no one around to help me.

I saw him pull the stranger’s pants she says. To get his attention, Jess Parker started shouting and her dog started barking. Once the individual got closer, Waldo hurried in the opposite direction.

When she arrived in the emergency room, Jess Parker realized the severity of her injury.

I thought it was just a minor injury. But actually my foot was completely severed from my leg she says.

Paramedics were concerned that blood would stop flowing to his foot for an extended period of time.

Doctors told me that if blood doesn’t flow to a limb for a while, I risk losing it. she said.

The fact that Waldo was able to act so quickly really meant that I got to the hospital on time and the situation didn’t get worse.

Jess Parker must wait six weeks after surgery before she can walk. The light at the end of the tunnel would be being able to walk with Waldo in his neighborhood again.

I know Waldo would protect me in any situation. He will be able to help me she believes.
