Food Bank warehouses ravaged by fire in Châteauroux

The Indre firefighters were engaged at 3:21 a.m. on the fire, described at that time as a “violent fire in a building used for various storage”. Significant resources were implemented with around ten engines and around forty firefighters from Châteauroux, Issoudun, Déols and Saint-Maur mobilized, under the orders of a staff officer.

Fire brought under control this morning

A forward command post was set up and four hoses were deployed to try to put out the flames which threatened to spread to neighboring buildings.

This morning, the disaster appears to have been “under control” according to the city’s mayor Gil Avérous, who visited the site. The elected official also announced on social networks that the emergency services managed to prevent the fire from spreading.

This is confirmed by the firefighters who explain that at 8 a.m. this Friday, the intervention is still in progress but that “the situation has stabilized”. “The fire was contained within its initial volume, they also specify. The main fire has been extinguished but there are still a few residual fires to complete the extinction. » A clearing phase will then begin.
