We don’t yet know the full extent of the damage, but the images speak for themselves. Friday January 10, 2025, a violent fire ravaged the warehouses of the Food Bank, boulevard d’Anvaux, in Châteauroux.

The Indre firefighters were engaged at 3:21 a.m. on the fire, described at that time as a “violent fire in a building used for various storage”. Significant resources were implemented with around ten engines and around forty firefighters from Châteauroux, Issoudun, Déols and Saint-Maur mobilized, under the orders of a staff officer.

Fire brought under control this morning

A forward command post was set up and four hoses were deployed to try to put out the flames which threatened to spread to neighboring buildings.

This morning, the disaster appears to have been “under control” according to the city’s mayor Gil Avérous, who visited the site. The elected official also announced on social networks that the emergency services managed to prevent the fire from spreading.
