The tourism sector in Morocco is doing well. Very good indeed. In 2024, the Kingdom reached a historic milestone by welcoming 17.4 million tourists, thus shattering its previous record and achieving in advance the objective initially set for 2026. This figure, which represents an increase of 20% compared to the previous year, testifies to the growing attractiveness of the Moroccan destination on the international scene.
With nearly 3 million additional visitors compared to 2023, this significant progression is reflected both in foreign tourists (TES), who reach 8.8 million visitors (+23%), and in Moroccans residing abroad. foreigners (MRE), which represent 8.6 million arrivals (+17%). The almost balanced distribution between TES (51%) and MRE (49%) confirms the constant attractiveness of Morocco for these two key segments.
Compared to 2019, the figures for 2024 show a spectacular growth of 35%, reinforcing Morocco’s positioning as an essential tourist destination and the leading destination in Africa. These performances result from the effective implementation of the tourism roadmap, which was able to mobilize public and private actors around ambitious common objectives.

This success confirms Morocco’s ability to adapt to the expectations of international markets while consolidating its attractiveness among MREs. It also reflects sustained efforts to diversify the tourist offering, improve infrastructure, and promote the Kingdom’s unique cultural and natural heritage.
