The victim is a 30-year-old electromechanic. These were employees of the factory specializing in smoked fish who noticed in the evening that their colleague had not been seen for several hours.

They found his lifeless body around 11 p.m. in the attic of the building, but were unable to do anything.

According to the Quebec City Police Department, the victim likely received an electric shock. His death was pronounced on the spot.

The Quebec police and the Commission for Standards, Equity, Health and Safety at Work (CNESST) have opened an investigation to establish the cause and circumstances of this death.
