Kamilya, the 7-year-old girl hit by a motorbike in Vallauris, has died

The father of Kamilya, the 7-year-old girl hit by a motorbike this Thursday in Vallauris, announced his daughter’s death this Sunday. Contacted by BFMTV, the family’s lawyer confirmed the girl’s death.

Placed in an artificial coma, the 7-year-old girl hit by a motorbike on Thursday in Vallauris (Alpes-Maritimes) died this Sunday, September 1, BFMTV learned from the family’s lawyer. She suffered from a head trauma and multiple fractures. When she arrived at the hospital, her vital prognosis was very engaged.

A tribute is taking place this Sunday in front of the family’s home, at the Le Hameau residence. The parents spoke: “Even in her death, she did not cry. She never cried at the age of 7, it is not today that we are going to start crying. I simply want us to show sorrow out of respect for her,” said the little girl’s father.

He also thanked the doctors, who “already knew there was no hope”: “I was told she did not suffer.”

The investigation should be reclassified as “involuntary manslaughter”

On Saturday evening, the motorcyclist, a 19-year-old man unknown to the courts, was charged “with unintentional injuries resulting in total incapacity for work of more than three months through a manifestly deliberate violation of a specific obligation of safety or prudence by the driver of a motor vehicle”.

He was released from police custody and placed under judicial supervision, a provision which carries a number of obligations and the surrender of his driving licence and a ban on leaving the department.

The prosecution had requested that he be placed in provisional detention. He therefore appealed the decision of the judge of liberties and detention, an appeal which must be examined “as soon as possible” by the investigating chamber of the Aix-en-Provence court of appeal, according to the latter.

According to the family’s lawyer to AFP, the investigation should be reclassified as “involuntary homicide” on Monday.
