Marchica Med SA opens the City of Atalayoun to the private sector

As part of its new strategic vision, Marchica Med SA is entering a decisive turning point by opening up to the private sector in order to accelerate the growth of the City of Atalayoun. This emblematic site constitutes the heart of the Marchica lagoon development project, initiated in 2008 under the leadership of King Mohammed VI.

During its last Board of Directors, Marchica Med SA validated a medium-term action plan, thus marking a new stage in the implementation of its development strategy. This plan aims to strengthen the participation of the private sector in the realization of the various components of the project, thus promoting a significant acceleration of the development of the City of Atalayoun.

A project anchored in the Royal Vision

The development of the Marchica lagoon is part of the Royal Vision aimed at highlighting the natural and economic potential of the Oriental region, particularly Nador and its province. This exceptional site extends 25 km long and 7 km wide, covering a total area of ​​19,000 hectares, including 7,700 hectares of land and 11,300 hectares of aquatic surface.

A sustainable and innovative ambition

The objective is to make the City of Atalayoun a leading tourist destination, combining modernity, respect for the environment and enhancement of the region’s natural and cultural heritage. This project intends to offer a unique experience, intended for local populations, Moroccans around the world, as well as national and international tourists.

Spanning 154 hectares, the City of Atalayoun stands out for its integrated approach. This ambitious project includes residences, hotel infrastructure, a course and a marina, in an innovative and sustainable approach, in perfect harmony with its natural environment.

Thematic cities to structure development

The program provides for the creation of seven thematic cities, introducing new urban and economic centers. These cities will contribute to structuring the regional tourism and economic offer while respecting the principles of sustainability and inclusion.

Calls for Open Projects: an opportunity for investors

As part of this dynamic, Marchica Med SA, project owner, announces the launch of several Open Calls for Projects (APO) to select investors for the development of the following seven projects:

APO N°1: Development of a residential project “Les Résidences du Port” – 28,165 m² (Lot n°2).
APO N°2: Development of a residential project “La Cité des Riads” – 36,483 m² (Lot n°7).
APO No. 3: Development of a school establishment – ​​15,591 m² (Lot No. 5).
APO N°4: Development of a health and well-being clinic – 6,605 m² (Lot n°48).
APO N°5: Development of the second phase of the Villas de la Baie – 54,476 m² (Lots n°12-13-14-30).
APO N°6: Development of “L’Hôtel du Golf” – 27,634 m² (Lot n°28).
APO N°7: Development of the Atalayoun Marina leisure and commercial zone – 8,235 m² (Lot n°36).
