During the last municipal council of the city of La Châtre on December 16, 2024 chaired by Mayor Patrick Judalet, as part of the 2025 budgetary orientation debate for the city and the water service, Luc Hurbain, deputy in charge of town planning presented the main investment works planned in order to continue the development of the city. It takes into account the current context and the uncertain national political situation. “Faced with this, we must remain prudent in terms of the budget and plan a reasonable transfer to investment”recalled Patrick Judalet. The amount of the proposed work is €1,852,418 with self-financing by the city of €661,800 from a loan of €450,000.
Buildings. The total amount of work amounts to €1,453,014 with self-financing of €370,434. They concern the continuation of the renovation of the Hôtel du Chevalier d'Ars, the extension of the municipal technical center, the repair of the roof of the church behind the choir, the project management for the redevelopment of the courtyard of the Rollinat school, the bodyguards on the main building of the Delacroix school, the replacement of the technical management of the building of the Marie-Louise Laguerre school, the repair of the sanitary facilities at Place du Marché, the entrance door entrance to the foyer and access control to the Foyer Pasteur, project management for the expansion of the football club's changing rooms, and the replacement of certain convectors in the community hall.
Roads and public lighting. The work package amounts to €222,567 with self-financing of €155,959 with the resumption of the paving stones on Rue Nationale, the continuation of the work on Rue des Prés-Burats already underway, and preliminary studies concerning Rue Saint- Abdon, the switching to LED in many areas, place du Docteur-Vergne, the church projectors, rue Fort-Lévêque, the village hall, modification of the intersection of avenue Aristide-Briand.
Green spaces. The total amount is €41,296 with self-financing of €22,778 for the creation of the footbridge on the banks of the Indre, the switching to LED of one of the rugby fields, the creation of a block of three columbarium boxes.
Water service. The budget amounting to €117,850, with among the works to be carried out, the water safety management plan, an anti-water hammer tank, a battery pump, the replacement of lead connections, project management for the two castles of water rue Nationale and Chevrions.
