“A major risk of food poisoning”

The inspection took place on December 31, 2024 in the Ganapareste butchery in Bobigny. During their visit, the inspectors noted the “detention, handling, cutting and sale of wild boar meat”. A dishonest practice and potentially dangerous for the health of the consumer since the meat is “deprived of any veterinary stamp certifying the healthiness meats.”

Other shortcomings were observed such as the absence of manual hygiene rules “including when leaving the toilet” which creates “a major risk of food poisoningparticularly fecal bacteria. Food is not concerned as it should be since the cold chain is not respected, which poses a “major risk of bacterial proliferation”.

In terms of premises and equipment, it is not much better, cleaning and disinfection were considered “very insufficient” et «unhealthy». Overall, the DDPP inspectors judged that the establishment was “inappropriate for the practice of the activity”.

The prefecture of Seine-Saint-Denis therefore ordered its emergency closure. The butcher's shop will only be able to reopen once the compliance work has been carried out.
