The Renault Clio has just won the ranking of the best-selling new cars in France for the year 2024, ahead of the Peugeot 208 which it finally overtook despite the latter's best start. The two city cars are ahead of a third, that of the Dacia brand which is ultimately a little less popular in our country than in the rest of Europe where it was the best-selling car.
In fourth place in this ranking of the best-selling new cars in France in 2024, we find the first SUV. And it is still the Peugeot 2008, already distinguished in this respect in 2023 and 2022. It has sold for 48,547 copies and thus ahead of its main competitor the Renault Captur, claiming for its part 45,961 units sold. These two haven't moved from the rankings for two years!
The new Dacia Duster is going strong
Marketed since mid-year, the new third-generation Dacia Duster finished thirteenth with 23,511 units sold. In the SUV category, it finished behind the Toyota Yaris Cross, the electric Tesla Model Y and the Renault Austral which finished at the top of its category. But there is no doubt that it risks rising much higher in 2025 in its first full year. It will also be interesting to see where the new MG ZS arrives, this hybrid urban SUV with unbeatable pricing.
-Note that in Europe, it is the Volkswagen T-Roc which comes first among the best-selling SUVs of the year 2024 ahead of the Tesla Model Y and the Toyota Yaris Cross. The Peugeot 2008 was only thirteenth in the first eleven months of the year.
