This year again, all schools and colleges in France are invited to participate in the school chess championships. In Haute-Garonne, the departmental phase for the northern zone will take place on Saturday January 18, 2025 in Plaisance du Touch. Players participate individually but from 8 participants from the same establishment (including at least 2 girls and 2 boys), they can form a team and qualify for the regional phase on behalf of their establishment! Interested students must first obtain a license from a chess club affiliated with the French Chess Federation. The Frontonnais chessboard can help them in this process. Who will do like our graduate Arthur, who came 1st in CM1 last year in 2024?! If you want to play chess, come and meet the club officials on Friday from 5:15 p.m. at the Fronton Media Library for information.
