The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has decided to engage the national selection in two major competitions: the African Nations Championship (CHAN), scheduled for early next month in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, as well as the Arab Cup, which will take place in Qatar from December 1 to 18, 2025.
About it, Hesport learned from well-informed sources that the overlapping dates between the African Cup of Nations (CAN), scheduled in Morocco, and the Arab Cup will not constitute an obstacle to Moroccan participation in these different competitions. The FRMF therefore plans to play the two tournaments with the national B team, under the direction of technician Tarik Sektioui, coach of the Olympic team.
It is specified that the selection participating in these two competitions will be made up of players from the national B team and the local championship, as well as certain Moroccan players playing in Arab and Gulf championships, depending on the choices of the coach.
Note that the Arab Cup, scheduled for Qatar from December 1 to 18, 2025, will coincide with the last days of preparation of the African selections for the CAN, which will take place in Morocco from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.
Furthermore, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has also announced that the CHAN draw will be held on January 15 in Nairobi, Kenya.
