The FAR increases its stock of Turkish military drones – Telquel.ma

LMorocco has signed several contracts with the Baykar company to acquire “Bayraktar TB2” drones. In the first contract in 2021, an agreement was reached to purchase 13 drones, with an estimated value of around $70 million. The delivery process began gradually at the end of 2021 and continued into 2022.

Cooperation with the Turkish company expanded in the following years, notably between 2023 and 2024, including additional contracts, with new batches of drones delivered to the Kingdom.

The Bayraktar TB2 drone system includes six aerial vehicles (drones), two ground control and command stations, three ground data stations, two video stations, as well as ground support equipment.

The Bayraktar TB2 is classified among tactical military drones (surveillance and attack); it can fly at an altitude of 20,000 to 27,000 feet (about 8,000 meters), carry equipment weighing up to 150 kilograms, and fly for up to 25 hours straight.

The armed drone has exceeded one million flight hours, becoming the longest-flying Turkish domestic aerial vehicle.

It can also carry out surveillance missions, immediate target recognition, day and night, providing real-time information to operations centers, in addition to being capable of targeting specific threats with munitions and missiles. embarked.
