OL will quickly have to resolve their problems with the DNCG, otherwise they will play the next season in Ligue 2. And the recent appeal made by the Rhone club will not change anything…
OL have been progressing at a very good pace in Ligue 1 for some time and can start dreaming big in this second half of the season. But this will be conditioned by a lot of things. First of all, good sporting results but also a better financial situation. A few weeks ago, Les Gones learned that they would play in Ligue 2 during the next financial year if the financial situation did not improve this winter on the transfer market. The DNCG wants cash flow and significant sales are therefore expected. But in an attempt to prove its good faith, OL wanted to appeal the sanction pronounced by the DNCG. Certainly in vain…
OL appeals, the chances of success are slim
According to Olympic and Lyonnaisif the call had wanted to lead to something positive for OL, it should have been made in the wake of the DNCG sanctions. However, the letter notifying these sanctions was sent weeks later to the people of Rhone. A meeting will be held at the end of the week for the Lyonnais but the FFF legal commission should not contradict the DNCG, unless there is an improbable turnaround in the situation. The meeting will mainly aim for OL to provide new elements proving its good faith and its desire to change the situation. Problem, John Textor does not start with points in advance. His strategy implemented through Eagle Football Group is contested, while the American continues his deals between his clubs to find money. For some time now, many players have moved from OL to Botafogo and vice versa.
