Established on January 26, 2021, the local territorial cohesion committee implements in the department the action of the national agency for territorial cohesion (ANCT). It defines the strategic directions in terms of engineering for the benefit of local authorities and their groups at the departmental level and identifies the engineering resources that can be mobilized locally.

After 3 editions in Morhange, and , 134 participants (members of the committee, expanded this year to include mayors of municipalities with more than 1,000 inhabitants) met on November 15, 2024 at the Regional Administration Institute of Metz.

The plenary meeting, chaired by Richard Smith, secretary general of the prefecture, made it possible to take stock of the ANCT's support in . Concrete accompanying illustrations were presented by elected officials or operators.

An engineering forum, bringing together in the same space the stands of local engineering operators, State operators and institutions, allowed numerous exchanges with elected officials and community technicians. To go further, a guide to local engineering resources has been developed thanks to the contribution of local State partners:

Finally, solution workshops, led by the departmental territorial management, made it possible to initiate discussions between elected officials, technicians, engineering operators, financial partners, based on a project presented by a community. Thus, 15 community projects were presented in these workshops on 5 different themes:

  • the requalification of degraded buildings into housing in rural areas,
  • the development of a photovoltaic project in its municipality,

  • the waterproofing of public spaces and grounds (parking lots, schoolyards, etc.),
  • the development of short food circuits for residents.

This highlight of engineering, which demonstrates the role of animation, impetus and support of the State, was very appreciated by the participants.
