a cleaner 20th arrondissement of (but not only that) – Mon Petit 20e

This year again, it is a cleaner 20th arrondissement that you would like to see in this new year. Following our questionnaire on Instagram, this is the answer that came up the most in your contributions: “Better cleaning of the streets”, “more cleanliness, because we pay like the others”, “an awareness of everyone for the cleanliness of the neighborhood”.

While our streets are too often cluttered with waste or dog droppings, the 20th arrondissement is at the same time the district of which produces the least household waste (285 kg per year and per inhabitant in 2023). It goes to show that we are capable of setting an example… but this is not (yet) found in our streets.

But what can we do to make things happen, apart from reporting incivility on the city of Paris app Dans ma rue? Since 2022, the collective “Les Brigades Vertes du 20e arrondissement” has regularly organized “cleanwalks”. But is it up to citizens to mobilize to compensate for the insufficient means deployed to maintain a clean city? Vast debate. And how can we succeed in raising awareness among uncivil people? If you have any ideas, give them to us in the comments!

Your other answers (related to the 20th):
– More social housing (with heating!)
– Less poverty and precariousness, a roof for all
– More welcome, meetings, solidarity
– That it maintains its social and cultural diversity, its authenticity
– Become the cultural and artistic district of the capital
– More green spaces and biodiversity
– More parks and equipment for dogs
– Cheaper rents and easier finding an apartment
– Being able to buy an apartment there
– Sun
– No more trash cans
– More colors in the streets
– Calmed traffic and a cycle path on rue des Pyrénées
– More bike storage, “safe” places to park them
– Decongestion of Place Gambetta
– A real music festival at Place Gambetta
– Food shops at the Père-Lachaise metro station
– A sports equipment store and a café next to the Georges Vallerey swimming pool
