The presidency of the CIIP entrusted to Martial Courtet

The canton of Jura takes the helm of the Intercantonal Conference of Public Education of French-speaking Switzerland and Ticino (CIIP) through its minister Martial Courtet, recently appointed president of this body. He was its vice-president.

The main person concerned speaks of a certain logic to evoke this accession, insofar as he was the oldest of its members with nine years of activity.

He is delighted at the gain in visibility that the canton of Jura will benefit from.

The CIIP? It works, says its website, “to ensure coordination and harmonization between the Latin cantons in terms of training and culture”. This typically involves the famous French-speaking study plan that each teacher must follow, or even through the teaching resources that it makes available (for example the German book Genial, which will bring back memories for thirty-year-olds).

The minister notes the importance that this conference is currently gaining. “We see that in matters of public education, when a problem appears in one canton, it does not take long to appear elsewhere as well. The CIIP allows us to speak on behalf of French-speaking and Ticino residents. There is a desire to work even more together.”

Martial Courtet replaces the Valaisan Christophe Darbellay, three years in the post of president, who is leaving the Latin level to celebrate a promotion to the national level, acceding to the presidency of the Swiss Conference of cantonal directors of public education .
