Beyond our errors, what happened yesterday seems extremely serious to me for the viability of the “PROJECT” for which we are fighting.
This “PROJECT” cannot be reduced to the sole person of Ousmane SONKO even if he is its standard bearer. We all fought with the same dignity, the same fervor and with perfect commitment. Our places within Pastef les Patriotes are not offered to us and those who are in certain bodies of the party know it. Whatever happens, we owe each other mutual respect. We are far from being followers or men who would accept any situation because they are CEO, minister or others. We faced Macky SALL by being at the heart of the administration before he ended up taking us to prison for 14.5 months. Nothing in our current situations can dazzle us to such an extent that we would lose ourselves in the pursuit of any privilege. If not for a reference, my own mother is more than enough for me. But we decided to fight alongside our sisters and brothers with whom we share highly sympathetic values that go beyond simple family aspects. This so-called plot we have insulted the youth maintained by certain leaders whom I know can do absolutely nothing against me. I don’t look at anyone in this project and tell myself that they love Senegal more than me, no one (I swear to God). Injustice is what brought me into politics and I will fight it wherever it manifests itself. We will never be passive in the face of injustice, if only for the loss of human life, for our credibility and our responsibility in the face of history.
