While the neighboring Andelys club has been at a standstill for almost four years, motocross is in Olympic form at Bouafles (Your).

L’Association Sportive Château Gaillard (ASCG) recently met on its grounds to take stock of the past season and discuss projects for 2024-2025.

A flight school still popular

Delphine Carpentierthe president, began by thanking the office members and volunteers for their investment “without which the ASCG could not exist”.

The office has also undergone some changes during the year. Vincent, the field manager, decided to quit while Olivier, who resigned last year, re-signed at the Ufolep flying school. During the 2023-2024 season, it counted 70 pilots.

Like every year, fifteen dates were on the program and the club hosted three courses: Laurine MX Les frangines, Simon Mallet and Morgan Fiquenel.

Less extensive work

The president listed the work that was less extensive than the previous year during which the ASCG obtained approval.

  • Repair of the track and maintenance of green spaces
  • Creation of a carport to house the telescopic handler. “Thanks to Alexis Lecuyer for the work. »
  • Creation of a new pre-park
  • Securing the platform with guardrails

Delphine Carpentier informed the audience of the discussions carried out regarding the disposal of tires stored for 20 years without authorization. “We're a little out of ideas because they're dirty and no one can take them back as is. »

An FFM race in 2025

After the success of its first FFM race in October 2023, the ASCG did it again in May 2024.

Well taken: no less than 1,000 spectators came to enjoy the show offered by the 250 pilots distributed in the series MX Normand et National.

The president would, however, like to improve the refreshment and catering area.

“We are also looking for help for this part where we were not very good. A very big thank you to everyone who worked before, during and after to make this day go as smoothly as possible. »

And as they say, never two without three. The club has already positioned itself for 2025 on the date of June 8. And the president clarified: “A quad and veteran series have already been validated. »

This should delight the 190 licensed pilots.

Finances in good shape

The financial report presented by Nelly Bourgeois, secretary and treasurer, is enough to make other associations pale.

As of November 1, 2024, the ASCG displays a positive balance of 22 915 euros with 95,257 euros in revenue and 72,342 euros in expenses.

The two races in October 2023 and May 2024 brought in respectively 7,599 and 7,402 euros, i.e. 15 001 euros.

The four members of the office were unanimously reappointed. About the office, the president addressed the fifty people present.

“We do not want to expand it but if you have time to devote to the association, want to help us and join our team of volunteers, we are at your disposal to discuss. Any help is welcome. »

The club is looking for volunteers for the flying school, to be available on Sundays for training. From November to April, the land can be open every Sunday then from May to October 1st, 3rd and 5th weekend of the month.

An FFM license for training

Concerning the future of the club, the president deplored the lack of development on the side of Ufolep. No meeting, no information.

However, she indicated that she wanted to retain the Ufolep affiliation for driving schools. “I remind you that the Driving School license can only be used on tracks reserved for this purpose in the presence of a facilitator and at the discretion of the clubs. »

For the competition and training, the ASCG had chosen to keep the two federations Ufolep and FFM.

Pilots stopped taking the Ufolep license since only three fields accepted the dual license. “Over the year, we must have had 10 Ufolep drivers training. »

Faced with the difficulty of having the Ufolep and FFM drivers ride together, the ASCG took a radical decision.

“We have decided to no longer issue or accept any pilot with a Ufolep license during training. The FFM license will be the only possibility. »

This year, the club plans to organize a Certificate of Aptitude for Motorcycling Sport (CASM) on March 15 but also driving courses with external instructors.

The office: Delphine Carpentier, president; Nelly Bourgeois, secretary/treasurer; Mickaël Lecaillet, field and flight school manager; Christophe Delacour, active member.
