The enchanted parenthesis of the Christmas holidays has just ended for the ski resorts of Haut-Doubs with optimal snow cover and remarkable attendance. The immediate future, however, does not look the same since the next few days will be marked by the arrival of a formidable cocktail for the snow cover, namely mild temperatures and abundant rain at all altitudes.
“There will be a few snowflakes this Tuesday above 700 meters but not more than two or three centimeters,” says MétéoNews. It is especially the days of Wednesday and Thursday which will cause damage with a major rainy disturbance which should give rise to accumulations of 20 to 40 millimeters depending on the location. It will be accompanied by strong southerly winds and values between 8 and 10° for the maximums. »
Colder and drier at the weekend
Suffice to say that the melting, already well underway for 48 hours, should accelerate quite radically even if the return to calmer conditions is expected on Friday according to MétéoNews specialists. “There will be clouds or even a few drops or flakes but the most likely scenario at present is the persistence of rather dry weather. The mercury will drop with the return of morning frosts, including in the plains, for the next weekend. »
This trend should persist until the middle of next week but the reliability index remains relatively poor for the time being.
