It was a walker who sent the editorial staffnews The Courrier du pays de Retz this new image of “grey” water discharge into the Haute-Perche canal, at the level of the wastewater treatment plant des Salines, in Pornic (Loire-Atlantique). An image taken during the week of January 1, 2025.
The editorial team had already received a rather similar photo in May 2024, when the new mobile station had broken down. According to Claude Caudalvice-president of Pornic agglo pays de Retz in charge of sanitation, these black discharges were also established as being water “ already processed”, and therefore harmless.
Clearer water discharge
Questioned once again about this phenomenon, Pornic agglo pays de Retz explains: “The waters of the canal are currently cloudy or turbid. The discharge at the outlet of the pipe is clearerwhich results in a color difference. The fish are neither lacking in oxygen, nor sick, nor dead. »
According to the community, the services in charge of the wastewater treatment plant have therefore not notedno malfunction.
