8 p.m. on BFMTV, “Bonjour et vous”, Bleu becomes Ici: everything that changes in January on and radio

the essential
Several new features come into effect on television and radio this Monday, January 6, 2025. New broadcasts, change of name of local Radio stations… Here are the changes in detail.

Back to school isn't just in the media in September. Sometimes it's also in January. This is the case in January 2025. On television and radio, several new programs are coming into effect. A radio station even changes its name.

BFMTV launches an 8 p.m. news

Who said that an all-news channel couldn't have an 8 p.m. news? This is the bet that BFMTV is trying from this Monday evening. Eric Brunet's show is over, Maxime Switek will present “Le 20h BFM”. Two hours of news from Monday to Thursday for which the journalist will be accompanied by consumer, international, political columnists or to answer questions from viewers. On weekends, “Le 8 p.m. BFM” will be presented by Alice Darfeuille with, at 9 p.m., a slot dedicated to “Ligne rouge” investigations. Another new feature on BFMTV: “Apolline from 9 to 10”. Around Apolline and Malherbe, which retains the presentation of the RMC morning show and the BFMTV/RMC political interview at 8:30 a.m., the channel promises “mood, temperament, information and guests”. She will be surrounded by columnists Laurent Neumann (politics) and Emmanuel Lechypre (economy).

“Hello and you”: the TF1 morning show is evolving

A year ago, TF1 launched its morning news show, called “Bonjour” and presented by Bruce Toussaint. A new formula saw the light of day this Monday, January 6. Between 8:50 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., the show evolved to take the name “Bonjour et vous”. “Hello and you, it’s a magazine. We therefore abandon the news in favor of an offer of proximity, service and pleasure”, explains Bruce Toussaint to the Ozap site. “What is the idea? Providing advice in areas relating to daily life, health, leisure, gardening, travel, nutrition and sporting activities.” This development is inspired by Marie-Sophie Lacarrau’s “13 hours at your side” formula. Bruce Toussaint will continue to receive a daily guest at the end of the show.

France Bleu becomes Here

25 years after adopting the name France Bleu, the 44 local radio stations of Radio France changed their name since 5 a.m. this Monday morning. The name France Bleu has disappeared in favor of Ici. Thus France Bleu became Ici Occitanie, France Bleu Béarn Bigorre took the name of Ici Béarn Bigorre, France Bleu Roussillon was called Ici Roussillon, etc. This name change was launched gradually in 2022. Here was already the name of the regional newspapers of France 3, the filmed mornings of France Bleu broadcast on France 3 and the local news website of public broadcasting.

A name change that listeners will have to get used to even if basically the programs will remain the same this season. Radio France will communicate on its “new” radio station on 11,000 advertising panels throughout France.
