Upcoming communication days in support of people with cancer – mafrique

In Morocco, communication days in support of people with cancer are planned for January 11 and 12 in Tetouan, under the theme “Capacity building and construction of participatory action to support people with cancer, through networking and updating knowledge”.

Initiated by the association “Cancer affects us all”these days aim to strengthen coordination and joint action between associations at the national level and the national and international institutions and bodies concerned.

They also aim to learn about the World Health Organization (WHO) framework for ensuring meaningful participation of people with direct experience of cancer, with a view to enabling the Ministry of Health and Social Protection to adapt this framework to the defined priorities.

These days also aim to inquire about medical and scientific developments to support people with cancer, to develop the administrative and technical skills of associations for a better impact and to establish collaboration plans between associations in to ensure sustainable humanitarian efforts.

On the program for this medical and social event, a scientific meeting entitled “advances in the care of cancer patients”presenting new therapeutic developments linked to this disease and bringing together representatives of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the WHO, specialist doctors, speakers and representatives of associations involved in the care of people suffering from cancer in certain cities in the Kingdom.

The second day of this event will be dedicated to a training workshop on “networking and strengthening participatory action”aiming to develop cooperation mechanisms between associations, to support their capacities in supporting people with cancer and to present the experiences of associations active in this area.

These days are part of the efforts made by civil society to strengthen awareness and networking between national and international associations and institutions in the field, with a view to improving the quality of services provided to people with cancer and to encourage cooperation between the parties concerned.
