They denounce farm controls and the European free trade agreement with Latin American countries.
A few dozen tractors tried to approach Paris this Monday morning, particularly in Yvelines and Essonne.
The authorities rule out letting activists block the international market in Rungis or Paris.
Some, without their tractors, nevertheless reached the center of the capital.
“Some are demonstrating because they want money,” said a demonstrator at Place du Trocadéro. “We want nothing other than the application of European rules, the same for everyone. Is this asking for the moon? The other thing is the controls that annoy us on a daily basis. You know them all. We want these controls to relate to imported products and not to us. We’re fed up.”
According to the authorities, mobilization counts around two hundred farmers and around fifty tractors across France.
The rallies are being held a few days before the professional elections.
Between January 15 and 31, farmers elect their representatives. The Rural Coordination, today the second agricultural union, hopes to strengthen itself in the face of the FNSEA-Young Farmers alliance.
