The stars of the Variétés Club de in Guadeloupe for Marius Trésor

A veritable line-up of stars, next January 18 in Sainte-Anne (Guadeloupe) for the inauguration of the Marius Trésor Stadium.

After a refresher on Saturday in Longpré-les-Corps-Saints (in the ), the Variétés Club de will participate in its first major event of the year, Saturday January 18 in Sainte-Anne, in Guadeloupe. On January 17, a delegation of 27 people will fly to the Antilles and celebrate the inauguration of the Marius Trésor Stadium.

Accustomed to this type of event, this is the first time that the Variétés will leave the metropolis and travel so many kilometers to inaugurate a stadium. “Marius Trésor is well worth it”, underlines Jacques Vendroux. “He is a loyal fan of Variétés, which he joined in 1984”. A little more than 40 years after celebrating the jubilee of the former international (in ), the VCF could not miss the inauguration of the Marius Trésor Stadium, which can accommodate 7,000 spectators.

The Variétés trip entirely financed by its partners, the recipe for the football school

The most incredible thing is that VCF travels to Guadeloupe for free, to participate in the match organized by the municipality of Saint-Anne, where Marius Trésor comes from, who has just celebrated his 75th birthday. “All profits will be donated to the Saint-Anne club football school”proudly announces the famous general manager of the club. “We come, we play and we leave (smile) »adds Vendroux. No costs incurred on the part of the organizers, it is the partners of the VCF who cover the travel (and accommodation) costs of the delegation.

And the football school of the Guadeloupean club which will fill its pockets. The Stadium should be sold out to see Govou, Savidan, Pires, Karembeu, Diawara, Giresse, Sinama-Pongolle, Piquionne and other VCF stars, with exceptional guests: UF champion Cyril Gane and his dad, Raymond, who dreamed of playing a match together. Monsignor Philippe Giougou, bishop of Guadeloupe and great football fan (which he plays) will also be part of the match between the VCF and the former players of Saint-Anne.
