On December 29, 2019, in the streets of Houilles, Liv Westphal burst out of the darkness to break the 10 km line in 31'15'', setting a new French record in the specialty, her eyes amazed by her own performance. Until then, the former French international (she retired in 2024) had a distance record of 32'35'' – even 32'02''38 on the track – but the magic of the shoes new generation had just hit a peloton full of very good level athletes performing for the first time in numbers with, at the time, the Next % pink ones from Nike. The slap was great, launching the start of records galore around the world.
