Missing for three days, a septuagenarian found safe and sound: his car was stuck on a forest road

This is the good news at the start of the new year in the midst of, let's say it, gloomy news. The Indre gendarmerie launched a call for witnesses on December 29 to find a woman in her seventies who had left her home in Indre at the wheel of her vehicle.

For three days, the gendarmes combed a very large area with the help of farmers and hunters without result.

But Belgian walkers traveling by bike found him on January 1, 2025, in the town of Saint-Août.

According to the gendarmerie, hikers discovered him in his vehicle late in the afternoon.

The phone was out of battery

The vehicle of the missing person had stuck in a forest path away from busy roads.

“The battery of his mobile phone was flat, Mr. B. could not contact the emergency services and remained forced to wait in his car, having difficulty moving while walking.”, indicates the gendarmerie which specifies that the area in which the vehicle was located was very difficult to access.

A happy ending therefore for the one who spent New Year's Eve in his car. After three days in his vehicle, the gentleman is exhausted but his condition does not cause concern, reassures the gendarmerie.

He was evacuated and hospitalized near Châteauroux for follow-up examinations.
