MSI Raider 18 HX appears on Geekbench with an Arrow Lake HX CPU and mid-range Ada Lovelace GPU

Over the past month, we’ve seen a handful of next-gen laptops leak. Some, like the HP Omen Max 16, are equipped with an Arrow Lake-HX processor and a GeForce RTX 50 series GPU. The new Razer Blade 18 uses the same processor, but its GPU remains a mystery. Today, a Geekbench listing tells us about the MSI Raider 18 HX.

Like the laptops mentioned above, the MSI 18-inch is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 9 285 HX Arrow Lake processor (8 P-cores + 16 E-cores). It is associated with 64 GB of RAM. As this is a Geekbench AI listing, the GPU is not directly listed. But it can be easily found by looking at its JSON output, and that reveals some interesting results.

The MSI Raider 18 HX in question uses, for one reason or another, a latest generation Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070. We can’t help but wonder why MSI chose to equip its flagship laptop with older hardware. But then again, a rumor from earlier this year predicted that OEMs would mix hardware from different generations.

Given that this is an MSI Raider 18 HX, options with more high-end GPUs will definitely be available. This should ideally include GeForce’s RTX 50 series offerings. But this tells us that Nvidia still has plenty of Ada Lovelace dies in reserve, and that they will be around for a while after Blackwell goes official.
