Ligue 1 will resume its rights this weekend. ASSE will host Stade de Reims on Saturday at 5 p.m. for the 16th day. A meeting which will be played without the Saint-Etienne Kops. This does not prevent the prefecture from taking measures for this match.
On Sunday December 8, ASSE suffered a 2-0 defeat against OM. Totally dominated by the runners-up in the championship, the Greens offered a disappointing performance in what was Olivier Dall'Oglio's last match in the Chaudron as Saint-Etienne coach.
This meeting against Marseille was also marked by a significant use of smoke bombs. The South Kop celebrated Saint Barbara's Day, while the North Kop celebrated 25 years of the Avant Garde of Magic Fans. No less than 450 pyrotechnic devices were lit. Which offered a pyrotechnic show which did not please the authorities.
At the end of the match, the dense smoke emanating from the Kop Nord forced the referee to interrupt the game. As a result, ASSE was summoned by the LFP disciplinary committee. The sanction is as follows: closure of the two Kops for two matches. Supporters of the Kops Nord and Sud will thus be absent during the receptions of Reims and Nantes in Ligue 1.
Measures from the Loire prefecture
– A mandatory meeting point is set for Saturday January 4 at 4:00 p.m. at exit no. 13 of the A72 motorway.
– Stade de Reims supporters will be escorted by the police from this assembly point to the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium.
-– Reims supporters' vehicles must be parked exclusively in the parking lot dedicated to visitors within the stadium.
– At the end of the match, supporters must follow the instructions of the police to leave the stadium safely.
In its decree, the Loire prefecture fears that Stephanois supporters will try to attack Reims on their way to the Stade Geoffroy Guichard.
