The Haute-Loire prefecture has deployed a reinforced vigilance system mobilizing internal security forces throughout the departmental territory, to secure New Year's Eve. Thus, on New Year's Eve, in addition to the numerous celebrations, nearly 150 law enforcement officers will be present on the roads to carry out speed, alcohol and drug checks. “These measures aim to ensure the safety of road users and prevent any dangerous behavior. The prefect invites each citizen to adopt responsible behavior and to remain vigilant to avoid road-related risks,” explains the prefecture in a press release.

Various bans have been put in place by prefectural decree, notably the sale of certain fuels and pyrotechnic equipment.

– the sale, transport, carrying and use of fireworks, pyrotechnic articles, firecrackers and rockets. This ban does not apply to pyrotechnic shows declared within the regulatory deadlines and fired by pyrotechnicians holding a qualification certificate;

– retail sales of corrosive fuels and take-away fuels at service stations and other points of sale supplying these products. This prohibition does not apply to professionals duly authorized to use these products.
