Traffic on tram line B gradually resumes in the metropolis of Orléans

Line B of the tramway of the TAO network in the Orléans metropolis is gradually resuming, announced the manager at the start of the afternoon of Friday December 27.

But the frequency of circulation remains disrupted.

Tram B traffic in Orléans was at a standstill on Friday December 27 morning. TAO announced a power problem. Substitute buses have been put in place, indicated the manager of the urban transport network of the Orléans metropolis.

At 10 a.m. on Friday, TAO was not yet able to advance a time for normal resumption of traffic on line B, which had been faulty since the theoretical start of service at 4:30 a.m.

In question, the negative temperatures of the night (-2°C) which could have generated a layer of frost at the level of the overhead contact line, which means that contact has difficulty being established with the pantograph, the arm articulated tram.

The problem can also come, concerning line B, from the ground power supply (APS) which is found in the city center of Orléans, to thus avoid the overhead lines. With, here too, a risk of poor contact in winter due to frost.
