Situations that are repeated too often for firefighters. On the evening of December 23, while responding to a trash fire, a crew of sappers was targeted by mortar fire in Strasbourg. The attacker, aged fifteen, was arrested by the police and taken into custody.
The management of the Bas-Rhin fire and rescue service condemned the violence suffered by its men and filed a complaint, as indicated in this tweet.
Being attacked, when you come to put out a fire, and potentially save people, is shocking. However, this is what firefighters still face too often when responding.
