And to conclude: “So, in compliance with the presumption of innocence and taking into account the 32 indictments, this wish aims to suspend all consultations with Doctor Daraï at Thenon hospital, during the investigation, in order to prevent any violence, any endangerment and more no woman goes for treatment with fear in her stomach. This wish also asks, which is a novelty compared to the two previous ones, to challenge not only the AP-HP, but also the order of doctors. »

What has changed since the first two wishes

Unanimously adopted by Parisian elected officials, this wish is the third since the start of the affair. In the meantime, a commission of inquiry composed of an obstetrician-gynecologist, a doctor from the university hospital community of Sorbonne University, a user representative and a member of the administrative management of the faculty of medicine had been missioned on September 20, 2021, retraces for Paris news l'AP-HP.

This led, on October 7, 2021, to the suspension of Émile Daraï from his duties as head of department and his educational responsibilities, in particular that of clinical internships. THE conditions for organizing consultations had also been reviewed: “as recommended in the investigation report, a nursing staff is present during the consultations and the patients' consent is collected and traced, before carrying out the actions carried out during the consultations”, specifies the AP- HP.

Finally, the report was sent to the authorities supervisory authority (Minister of Health and Solidarity, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Regional Health Agency).

The AP-HP stands behind the court decision

But Emmanuelle Rivier recalls that the gynecologist therefore continues his consultations at the public hospital: “I had the testimony, a month ago, of a woman who went to the fear in my stomach consultations », Alerted the elected official on December 18.

The response from the public health establishment? “The AP-HP and Sorbonne University strictly apply the conditions of judicial reviewdecided by the investigating judge within the framework of the current procedure, the only one knowing all the elements of the investigation file. » Which would explain why the situation remains blocked.

Despite the position of the municipality which, through the voice of Anne-Claire Boux, reiterated its support for the alleged victims: “I want to tell them that I believe them, that the City of Paris believes themthat we will always do what is in our power to be on their side. I also want to give them my support for their courage in having been able to testify and be able to file a complaint.”

As a reminder, a online petitionlaunched by the collective Stop against Obstetric and Gynecological Violence (StopVOG) and calling for the suspension of gynecologist Émile Daraï, had obtained more than 28,000 signatures.
