to Augustin-Thierry, solidarity does not wait for the number of years

At 15, Clément was already a volunteer at Secours populaire. He is also a senior high school student at the Augustin-Thierry high school. With his friends from the high school students' association, of which he is president, he came up with the idea of organizing a week of selling pastries to students for the benefit of the charity. Two members of the latter, Mireille, general secretary, and Bruno, in charge of sport and culture, supported them in their approach. First of all by creating a poster which was put up throughout the school as an announcement, then by their presence every day of the week, during morning recess.

“For this first experience, we wanted them not to feel alone in this operation, and took the opportunity to inform young people about issues of solidarity and volunteering in the associative world. »

Cyril Gaudin, baker and pastry chef from Blés, was asked to provide croissants and pain au chocolat and said he was up for this exceptional order. The educational team also showed solidarity with this action: “When Clément and his friends came to present their project, everything was ready down to the smallest detail “, declared Rémi Artige, deputy principal of the establishment, praising the seriousness and investment of these young people in high school life. “The funds raised (115 €) will allow us to offer swimming pool entries or cinema tickets to children from poor families”, rejoiced the general secretary.
