Astereotypes

It all started more than ten years ago, with a poetry workshop. Christophe Lhuillier was then an educator at the Institut Médico-Éducatif (IME) in Bourg-la-Reine: “We launched a writing workshop with my colleague Claire. From the first session, their texts and their way of declaiming inspired us and I began to add music. »

After a first self-produced album and released on the internet in 2012, they met the members of the group Moriarty during a workshop at the IME: Arthur Gillette and Eric Dubessay fell under the spell and became respectively bassist and drummer of Asteréotypie alongside Christophe on guitar and Benoît Guivarc'h on keyboard. Thus, they joined the independent label Air Rytmo (created by the members of Moriarty) which produced their second album The positive energy of the gods in 2017.

The documentary of the same name, produced by the journalist Lætitia Møller who follows them from the IME to the concert halls, offers keys to understanding to the public and wins several awards. It perfectly accompanies the release of the third opus, No guy looks like Brad Pitt in the Drômein spring 2022, which received a warm welcome from the public and great critical success.

Since then, Asteréotypie has toured concert stages and festivals throughout France. Everywhere, its singularity left its mark. After 10 years of existence, the collective finally met its audience and was considered a group in its own right. Their new album, Patamiis also about to be released.
