The debate at the last municipal council of the year was muscular. Before even tackling the first point on the agenda, the elected representatives of the majority and the opposition argued for almost an hour and a half, in particular regarding the doubts raised by Bruno Nougayrède regarding the notes of costs of majority advisors. “If I am obliged to take recourse, including to the courts, to obtain a certain number of answers to my questions, it is because you do not answer. I reminded you that the CADA had asked you to provide me with a certain number of proof of expenses by bank card and that you did not do so, complained the opposition representative before continuing: “if we we are obliged to refer the matter to the administrative court, if the Transparence Citoyenne association has taken the matter to the administrative court, it is because you did not respond. » Straight in his boots and smirking, Louis Aliot retorts: “All costs are now in the hands of the ethics officer. And once the ethics officer has looked at all of these costs, I will give you what is possible to give, and I will perhaps keep the rest, because you are giving the costs today and all of the notes is putting them in very bad hands, you who spend your time smearing Perpignan and smearing its mayor. » Affair to sfollow therefore.
Legal attacks
Obviously well prepared to do battle, the municipal majority added a second blade via François Dussaubat and Frédéric Guillaumon. The two elected officials consider themselves challenged by statements from Bruno Nougayrède with our colleagues from France 3: “When public finances are bad, we need to know who pays for the mayor's travel when he goes to Paris to appear on television. Who pays for the mayor's travel when he goes to Paris for his trial, who pays for his deputies' travel when they go to support him during his trial? » For these comments, the two elected officials in question will file a complaint and request functional protection. Louis Aliot does not rule out joining them. In perfect timing, the resignations of Chantal Bruzy and Pierre Parrat closed these tense preliminary debates (see box opposite). The municipal race is well and truly underway. In this last stormy council, elected officials voted for a contribution of 15,000 euros to the support fund for the victims of the Mayotte hurricane and the granting of the honorary title of Honorary Citizen of the City of Perpignan to Boualem Sansal . The writer who received the Mediterranean Prize in 2022 has been detained in Algeria without any justification since November 16.
Chantal Bruzy and Pierre Parrat leave the opposition group
For a long time, the tandem had been apart. It is now official, the leader of the opposition Chantal Bruzy and her colleague Pierre Parrat, now sit as independent elected officials, before perhaps taking a step towards the RN of Louis Aliot. If officially, the decision of the two municipal councilors responds to differences on the strategy of systematic opposition, the political message remains clear. In a press release published the same evening, the Union of the Right for the Republic (UDR) welcomed this decision. Pierre Parrat is affiliated with Eric Ciotti's UDR, which is increasing its calls for the RN. Let us remember that in our department, the boss of the UDR is none other than François Lietta, also Director of public relations and protocol at Perpignan town hall. The path seems clear. In the opposite direction, Remi Genis, deputy for urban cleanliness and the environment, abandons Louis Aliot. The list of those resigning from the municipal majority is growing after the departures of Marie Bach (finance), Bernard Reyes (northern districts) and Charlotte Caillez (west districts).
