The General Assembly of Aviron Bayonnais, organized this Monday, confirmed Philippe Tayeb as president for a new four-year term.
Aviron Bayonnais will not change course in the years to come. Successor to Francis Salagoïty as president of the Basque club in March 2018, Philippe Tayeb has seen the work done since taking office pay off. Indeed, the boss of the Bayonne team was officially re-elected for a new four-year term this Monday, during the club's General Assembly. Now in office until 2028, he intends to continue on the trajectory set out in recent years. “In recent years, we have worked tirelessly to raise Aviron Bayonnais to the top of French rugby,” said Philippe Tayeb in a press release. I am very optimistic about the idea of continuing the development of the economic and sporting project that we initiated as part of our strategic plan. » In fact, the latter was reappointed at the head of a Board of Directors renewed in its entirety, but above all it expanded.
Rowing Bayonnais looks to the future
The arrivals of former president Philippe Ruggieri and Thomas Bergeyre, CEO of the company Delzongle Aquitaine, were thus made official. “These appointments, which strengthen the links between the club and the local economic fabric, will provide valuable expertise in the management of Aviron Bayonnais,” specifies the club in its press release. This General Assembly also made it possible to validate two major projects for the future of Rowing Bayonnais. The first is an increase in the club's capital “with a view to expanding the grandstand”. The second is the creation of the “Aviron Bayonnais Académie”, the aim of which will be to “train future sports educators” but also to “facilitate the retraining of high-level athletes in the region”. Projects which take place while the Basque club is in a healthy financial situation, with “a positive net result” estimated at more than 200,000 euros linked to “the diversification of its income and the controlled management of expenses”.
