Mewen Tomac, from Métropole Natation (AMN), was in the spotlight on Saturday December 21, before the finals of the Meeting des Hortillons. Pending his departure, the AMN has just made it official, through a press release, that the French swimmer was leaving for the University of Berkeley, in the United States, with a degree from EN .

Amiens Métropole Natation has formalized the departure of its champion Mewen Tomac:

“Mewen Tomac, who will fly to the United States in a few days to join the University of Berkeley,” has just announced to Amiens Métropole Natation that he is leaving the club to take his license at EN Caen. This decision comes after several weeks of negotiations between the AMN and Mewen Tomac. The numerous proposals that the managers made to keep Mewen within the club were unfortunately not enough. They obviously regret the departure of the great champion that is Mewen but the situation of the club and the pursuit of its demanding policy of training of excellence did not allow them to go beyond what they proposed.
Amiens Métropole Natation therefore takes note of Mewen Tomac's decision, thanks him for having carried the club's colors high for many years and wishes him every success for the rest of his career. »

An important departure for the young swimmer, which will leave a void within the Amiens club. A void which will undoubtedly be filled by one of the young Picardy shoots within a few years, as Romuald Allais would like.
